Club Provides Support to Blair Thomson’s Bid For Schedule PR Glory
During the year the Committee of the Club have spent some time looking at ways we can continue our support for young or new people in motorsport. Through contacts, and with a bit of effort we have negotiated some funds from a Trust in Dunedin as a first effort. The Committee has resolved that when we are able to source these funds we will apply approximately 50% of the net funds to a “support fund” within the Club. The first recipient of a benefit from this is Blair. We wanted to test the system, he had a real need for his campaign, and he had to go through a process that most 19 year olds would find a bit daunting. However, with a bit of coaching before his submission he gave us good reason to provide the support.
But it isn’t a hand out! The Club now owns a HANS device, and a MotorSport NZ transponder which Blair will return at the end of the season. As well, he will keep us informed of progress, and will give us a run down at the AGM of the preparation and realities of running in the big time. Attached is his letter of thanks.
