Te Mata Sprint

Well, here we are gearing up for our Te Mata Sprint on Ruapuke Road. We have come back to a date where we traditionally ran and we are looking forward to another great day out in the country. Attached below are Regulations and an Entry Form in pdf format, along with an Entry form in Word format for those who have that available on their computers.
As noted in the Regulations it would be a great help to the organisers if as many as possible could get scrutineered on the Saturday. If we get sufficient numbers from Auckland we will set up Scrutineering there as well.
Look forward to your Entries.

Taupo Sprints - January

As usual we are off to Taupo in January for Driver Training and Dual Car Sprinting. Now that A1GP appears to have imploded we have had the ability to have a more user friendly date. Sunday 23rd January is the big day, and we will be documenting and scrutineering in Hamilton on the Saturday at Research Motors, Ruakura Lane off Ruakura Road. We now have a Licenced Scrutineer based in Auckland so we will be looking to do as many cars as possible there as well to make things quicker and easier at Taupo. More information on that when we have set a time and location. It certainly helps when as many as possible are scrutineered in advance, and with that documentation is checked as well.
We are again limiting entries to 60, with up to 20 for training. This is not an excuse for an extra fang, it is for people who want some instruction in how to drive on the track - and this translates to better driving on the road as the skills learned help keep you out of trouble.
Attached are the regulations, slightly changed from the originals emailed out, and the Entry Form. Please get your entry in as early as possible so we know who is coming, and how many trainers we need.

TENG TOOLS Tarmac Series Hillclimb Results

Well,
A fine day while it rained on the taxis in Australia. The finale of the series was a superb day that ran as any organiser would hope, no cars off the road, no work for the ambulance, and lots of very happy looking players. 44 people started the day, but we were soon reduced by a couple, Alan Smith in his Subaru Legacy again breaking his gearbox after putting in only one run that counted. Similarly, Timo Fogelberg in his Mitsubishi VR4 soon had trouble with a slipping clutch. A couple of MX5 drivers went home after one run to watch Bathurst.
Allen Fretwell turned up in his Subaru Legacy RSRA with a fresh paint job that looks pretty sharp, and a new motor and turbo that are certainly pumping out some horsepower. He laid down the gauntlet in practice with a sub 55 second run. It seemed to work as times crept down all day, with some quite remarkable improvements during the day.
At the end of competition Allen Fretwell was fastest, with Alan Smith 3 seconds behind him, and top series competitor. Fastest Junior was again David Middlemiss, followed by Bradly Martin. Fastest woman was Nakita Stevenson in her Evo 7RS, followed by Kerryn Sutherland in Dad’s Toyota Levin second just ahead of Lenare Martin. Russell Jenkins won Class A in his Suzuki Swift, Christo Strydom was fastest in Class B in his Toyota MR2, Darcy Meier won Class C in his Civic and Allen Fretwell won Class D. Fastest Fiat was Blair Wald in his Uno Turbo, a well sorted little car.
It has been a great series, so well supported by almost 130 different competitors and well over 30 who did 4 or 5 rounds. Thanks to everyone who competed, and especially to the helpers throughout the series. A big thanks to everyone who made it possible for me to compete as well as co-ordinate the series.
See you all at prize giving, I will send an email during the week as we have decided that 29th October is unsuitable with Targa in progress.
Ciao,

Change of Venue for Documentation and Scrutineering

This is very late notice, but due to family circumstances our venue as noted in the Supplementary Regulations for the TENG TOOLS Tarmac Series Hillclimb will not be available on Saturday.
Therefore;

Documentation and Scrutineering will take place at Research Motors, Ruakura, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday 10th October. If you live in or anywhere near Hamilton please attend as Sainsbury Road is not the ideal venue for doing it on the side of the road.
Look forward to seeing you all there.
